Laying a Trail!

These Scout signs are similar to the ones used by the American Indians so they could find their way across the prairies when there were no paths to follow.

Here are some hints for beginners:

  • Make your signs large and clear
  • If there is a change in your direction make it obvious
  • When you are using a path, put the trail signs along the edge
  • Don't use anything that can blow away or permanently mark a trail
  • Last one through picks up the trail
Uwhoooo.... this way... I said go THIS way! NOT this way!
Ok... directional change now! Nah.... maybe this way instead! Thirsty??? Drinking Fountain dead ahead!
Check out the secret message! Watch out - you'll trip! Yahoo - a tent and a nice warm sleeping bag!
